About

Our funding programme is now closed

The final deadline for all applications was 30th November 2014. If you’ve received a grant from us recently, all funds must be spent by 28th February 2015.

Looking for funding? You can find some other options on the Newsome Grapevine:

Funding sources

Community First is a funding programme from the Office for Civil Society. It helps communities to come together through new or existing community groups, so that we can identify our strengths and local priorities, and plan for our future. The programme will run for four years, until March 2015.

Part of this programme is the ‘Neighbourhood Matched Fund’, which gives local people the opportunity to decide how this funding should be spent in their area.

Information for applicants

Funds available

The funding available for the Newsome Ward as part of this programme is:

Year one: £11,248
Year two: £16,979
Year three: £16,975
Year four: £22,618

Each group can apply for between £250 and £2,500 per year.

Community First is a ‘matched’ fund programme, which means that every £1 provided in funding must be matched by a similar amount of in-kind donations (this means donations of cash, goods and services, or people’s time).

A panel of local people will make recommendations about how the funding should be spent.
